1. Scaffold setup and material preparation

In the initial phase we start by erecting the scaffold and organising all necessary materials on-site, laying the groundwork for the construction to commence.

2. Structural framework assembly

Following the preparation, the steel structure and floor joists are positioned. We then proceed with the dormer framework, which paves the way for subsequent roof construction, window installation and any required brickwork.

3. Insulation and interior finishing

Inside, the loft is fully insulated and lined with plasterboard. The interior is then finished with plastering, creating a seamless surface, before we install the new staircase and electrical systems to bring the space to life.

4. Bathroom installation and carpentry completion

The final touches include the installation of a new bathroom, ensuring all fixtures are in place. The carpentry work for the new rooms and staircase is completed, marking the culmination of the conversion process.

Types of Loft Conversion

One of the questions we most frequently get asked is “what type of loft conversion can be carried out on my property?” There are four main types of loft conversion that we can create depending on the structure of your house.

Rear Dormer

On most terraced and semi-detached properties, it is possible to construct a rear dormer to create a substantial amount of extra floor space and height.

This allows a larger bedroom and bathroom to be formed or the formation of two rooms in the loft space.

Gable Conversion

On a hip ended property, the formation of a gable wall above the existing side flank wall will provide a more natural appearance to the conversion and can give the impression that the property was originally constructed this way.

The existing tiles are often used to match the main roof. This type of conversion can enable the loft to be converted into two rooms and a bathroom.
